The Pennsylvania National Guard Association (PNGAS) is leading a Pennsylvania delegation to the 148th NGAUS General Conference & Exhibition. The conference runs Friday, August 28 through Monday, August 31, 2026, at the Indiana Convention Center in Indianapolis.

Why PNGAS members attend

NGAUS is the federal advocacy arm for National Guard officers. The General Conference is where the year's priorities get decided.

Federal advocacy

NGAUS is the only organization advancing the interests of National Guard officers at the federal level. State associations align on the year's legislative agenda here.

Caucus voting

The Officer, Warrant Officer, and Retired/Separated caucuses elect leadership and adopt positions. NGAUS members are eligible to vote in their respective caucus.

Pennsylvania's voice

Resolutions adopted at the General Session shape the legislative priorities our delegation carries to Capitol Hill. Showing up matters.

Key dates

PNGAS registration closes Wednesday, July 1, 2026. We close two days ahead of the NGAUS hotel block deadline so we can finalize the Pennsylvania roster and submit attendees in time. After July 1, late requests can be made by emailing pngas@pngas.org but cannot be guaranteed.

Cancellations through July 15 receive a refund less a $15 administrative fee. From July 16 onward, all sales are final.

What is included with PA registration

Conference registration covers the General Session, all caucus meetings (Officer, Warrant Officer, Retired/Separated), the States Dinner, the Spouses Luncheon, Hospitality Night, and the Governor's Farewell Reception. PNGAS handles your hotel reservation in our reserved block at The Westin Indianapolis.

Optional activities — the NGAUS Golf Tournament, the IMS Museum & Track Tour, the Monuments Walking Tour, and the 5K Fun Run — are available at separate per-attendee fees on the registration form.

Hotel

Pennsylvania delegates stay at The Westin Indianapolis at 241 W Washington Street. The Westin honors the conference rate from August 25 through September 2 if you'd like to extend your stay on either side. Hotel reservations are coordinated by PNGAS as part of your registration — you do not need to book separately.

The 15-story Westin opened in 1989 and sits directly across from the Indiana State Capitol. It connects by climate-controlled skywalk to Circle Centre Mall and to the Indiana Convention Center next door, which means delegates can walk from their guest room to the General Session floor without stepping outside — useful in a Midwest August. The hotel has 575 rooms, 42,500 square feet of meeting space, and Lucas Oil Stadium (NFL Colts) is two blocks south.

The Westin brand invented the Heavenly Bed in 1999. To launch it the company parked beds outside the New York Stock Exchange and parachuted a skydiver onto one over the Savannah River. The bed is in every guest room you will sleep in this week.

A note on phishing

Bad actors have been emailing and calling NGAUS attendees offering attendee lists or claiming to handle hotel bookings. Register only through PNGAS. Hotel reservations for Pennsylvania delegates are coordinated by PNGAS — you should never receive direct hotel-booking outreach from outside vendors. If something looks off, forward it to pngas@pngas.org.
