Join Us at the 146th NGAUS General Conference & Exhibition in Detroit
We are excited to announce the 146th General Conference & Exhibition of the National Guard Association of the United States (NGAUS), scheduled to take place from August 23-26, 2024, in Detroit, Michigan, famously known as "The Motor City." This pivotal event, themed "The National Guard: Built to Defend America," promises to be a significant gathering for National Guard members across the country.
This year’s conference is especially noteworthy as it aligns with the 2024 Presidential election. NGAUS has extended invitations to the presumptive Democrat and Republican nominees, offering an unparalleled opportunity for our members to engage directly with key figures in our nation’s leadership.
Important Dates and Calls for Participation:
- Award Nominations Deadline: May 15, 2024
- Proposed Bylaw Changes Deadline: May 31, 2024
- State Resolutions Deadline: June 30, 2024
Winners of the awards will be announced in mid-July, celebrating the exemplary contributions and achievements within our community.
Conference Highlights:
- The event officially kicks off with the ribbon-cutting ceremony on August 24 at 10:00 am, followed by the opening of the exhibition floor exclusive for conference-badged attendees.
- Engage in the First General Business/Professional Development Session, featuring the Annual Roll Call of States and Territories, starting at 12:30 pm on the same day.
- The conference will also feature separate Army and Air sessions, professional speaker sessions on the tradeshow floor, and a New Industry Partner Feedback Forum.
Special Events:
This year's States Dinner, happening on Monday evening, is themed around WWII & Rosie the Riveter, providing a unique blend of history and celebration. It’s a fantastic opportunity for attendees to don themed attire and immerse in the spirit of unity and resilience that characterizes our armed forces and our nation.
Elections and Accommodations:
- Elections for the Board of Director’s all Executive Committee positions, among others, are scheduled, ensuring that our leadership continues to reflect our collective ambition and dedication.
- A variety of accommodation options are available, with transportation services from Detroit Metropolitan Wayne County Airport (DTW) to downtown hotels organized for attendees’ convenience.
